Asian Civilizations Museum's Classic & Contemporary Artefacts

Why You Need To Visit

  • Where Old and New Intertwine

Just like Asia itself, this museum is a mix of the classic and the contemporary, with a historical facade, a modern interior and a timeless collection. This is the only museum in the region devoted to exploring the artistic heritage of Asia, especially the ancestral cultures of Singaporeans.

  • Inspired by Connection

From the artefacts of an Arab shipwreck to relics of Christianity and Hinduism, the museum's collection is an homage to human connection, and bound to inspire visitors.

  • Touch the Past

Immersive activities, multimedia showcases and interactive exhibits bring the stories of the past to vivid life. A series of sculptures that depict the everyday lives of locals under colonial rule, ‘People of The River’ offers a nostalgic look into 19th-century Singapore. ‘A Great Emporium’—located in front of the Asian Civilisations Museum—depicts the coolies who helped build our nation.
