Be captivated by the colourful processions, vibrant music, and the incredible display of faith as devotees pierce their bodies with hooks and skewers. Immerse yourself in this unique cultural experience, where tradition, devotion, and celebration gather to create an unforgettable Thaipusam in Singapore.
Wondering where to catch a glimpse of the Thaipusam festivities? Head to these places to soak in the sights, smells and sounds.
Road lanes are closed to traffic on Thaipusam between Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple at Serangoon Road and Sri Thendayuthapani Temple at Tank Road, for the procession.
Bystanders can view the kavadis up close, which literally mean ‘sacrifice at every step’ in Tamil. Kavadis can weigh up to 40 kilogrammes and reach a height of four metres.
Age-old tradition and trendy new haunts come together in an intoxicating blend on the colourful streets of Little India in Singapore.
